Step by Step Early Childhood Play Group is a volunteer, non-profit organization founded in 1992 for the purpose of providing education and activities for families with young children (newborn - six years). We are affiliated with the Illinois and National PTA, but are not affiliated with any one particular preschool. Last year, over 100 members from the community were involved in our activities and special events. Our members come largely from towns in Northwest DuPage County, Illinois including Carol Stream, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, West Chicago, Glendale Heights, Wheaton, St. Charles and Geneva.
As parents we are looking for ways to help enrich the lives of our children. Step by Step helps parents reach this goal through fun, educational and social activities for families with young children.
Activities and programs include:
- A monthly newsletter
- Group fieldtrips
- Parent and child education programs
- Playgroups
- Mom's & Dad's nights out
- Family parties
Step by Step's Biggest Loser Challenge
To keep us in line during the holidays and encourage us to burn off the calories after the holidays, we are sponsoring a Biggest Loser Challenge. This is open to non-members, so if you have a friend that wants to join that is fine. If any of our husbands are interested, please let me know and we will put together a separate challenge for them.
Details:
Dec 1st - Feb 5th are the start and end dates. You must be available for the final weigh in on Friday Feb. 5th.
Original weigh in will be on Dec 1st at a to be determined central location. If you for some reason can not make Dec. 1st please contact me for other arrangements. The original and final weigh ins will be on the same scale for everyone. Each Monday, you will need to send me your weight for tracking purposes. You can weigh yourself on your own scale on these days.
Cost: $20 per person - Once you put your money in you are committed. If you decide to drop out, you will not get your money back. Winner: participant with the biggest percentage of weight lost based upon the original and final weigh ins
Prize: 1st place 50% of the total entry fees; 2nd place 30% of total entry fees, 3rd place 20% of total entry fees.
Anyone who wants to put together times to get together to walk, exercise etc. is more than welcome to. Once we have all of the participants I will put together a master email distribution list and also set up a facebook page. This way if anyone wants to get together to work out, etc. will be able to contact the group.
